FAQs
What is digitising?
Digitising is the converting of your artwork to a stitch file that the embroidery machine can read from.
Good digitising is the foundation of quality embroidery. The digitiser is like an artist, who tries to inject life into the embroidery by the use of different stitch patterns, which makes a tree look like a tree, a bird look like a bird, and your logo like a work of art. Not all digitisers are the same. It takes many years of experience, working on design after design, to become a competent digitiser. For this reason we outsource this critical function to specialists with many years of digitising experience, so that we can guarantee the best results possible.
What format should I send my logo artwork in for digitising?
Our digitiser can use any medium you can provide, even .jpeg, or a copy of a business card or letterhead. He will ensure that the embroidery process starts with the best possible foundation. His experience means that you get all the variegation, contrast and highlighting of different stitch combinations that you cannot get from part-time digitisers or off-the-shelf computer programs, and the difference really shows. Our clients have been more than impressed with the stunning results that our approach produces.
How much does digitising cost?
Digitising costs vary, depending on the number of stitches in the design and the complexity of the work.
How long does it take to get a quote?
It is ironic that that in order to prepare a quote, the digitiser has to actually do most of the work involved in digitising the design. Despite this, quotes are still free. However, it takes several days to produce a quote, depending on how much the digitiser has on his plate. Once you decide to go ahead with the work, it only takes a day to finish the digitising and test it ready for us to use. When it arrives in our workshop, we test the design again and quality control it a second time. |
